Tony Gould (arts director)

Tony Gould is the founding director of the Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) and the Brisbane Festival.

Gould has been awarded the JC Williamson Award for Lifetime Achievement at the Helpmann Awards[1][2] and is a member of the Order of Australia[3]; a “Queensland Great”[4]; holds an Australian Centenary Medal; is a Doctor of the University at Queensland University of Technology; is a Doctor of the University at Griffith University; holds a Lifetime Achievement Award, Actors’ and Entertainers’ Benevolent Fund; holds a Special Lifetime Achievement Award, Brisbane Tourism; holds a JC Williamson Helpmann Award; and was a Queensland Government Australia Day Ambassador on five successive occasions.[5]

The Performing Arts Museum at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre was re-named the Tony Gould Gallery[6] in 2002.
